Product Sampling Activity Evaluations

Customer Vox-Pops

Vox-pops means “voice of the people”; and one of the key benefits of sampling is to engage with customers in a two way dialogue about your produce. Our front line sampling teams pro-actively illicit opinions from the sample recipients which will be accurately recorded, categorised to subject and fed back to you in a weekly activity report, allowing you to understand what customers really think about the products being sampled.

Sampling Campaign Photography

When it comes to sampling, pictures really can paint a thousand words. Every aspect of our sampling campaigns will be photographed for you, to show all aspects of the activity. This includes: the event area set up, the way the sample produce looks when being offered to the consumers, the way in which the teams of brand ambassadors are interacting with customers and of course, hordes of happy recipients enjoying their product samples. This photography can then be utilised on your website, facebook pages, company literature, press releases and board meeting presentations.

Promotional Sampling Campaign Videos

In addition to still photography, it is often advisable to film the various elements of the sampling activity in action, and edit it down into a short video montage for your company website, social media, or internal company communications. This should include a high impact mix of consumer interactions, vox-pops, event area and tour locations.Check out some examples here.

Field Team Feedback

The front line sampling staff are ideally placed to make ongoing recommendations to the effective implementation of activity, while on location on a daily basis. It’s essential that daily de-briefs are held with both the team leaders and the local area field staff to understand exactly what is happening on location, for every shift. It’s often the little extra elements of detail that can turn a good sampling campaign into a great one!

Quantitative Analysis

There are a number of ways that sampling campaigns should be evaluated. The easiest of which is the straight number of product samples handed out, either per day, per week or in total. Depending on your sampling campaign set up, you can also calculate the total indirect audience reach (eg: if located in a central location within a busy shopping mall, or if your individual sample product is intended for multiple recipients). Sales uplifts are measured by accurate tracking of EPOS data from retailers, as is voucher redemption when used with a monitoring service.

Future Campaign Recommendations

Detailed activity reporting allows the identification of best strategies to rise to the surface for repetition or for refinement of elements for future maximisation of audience reach or consumer experience. We will ensure that these recommendations are evaluated both weekly so they can be incorporated quickly into live activity; and also at the end of the campaign, for consolidation into future campaign strategy.
