Brief:

Print was distributed into residential properties on a solus campaign (individual leaflet) within a three- to four-mile radius of each of the Tesco Extra Stores, in the week prior to the January Sale.

Campaign Description:

  • Print distribution teams completed door to door distribution to all properties within a four-mile radius of each store.
  • 12,000 leaflets went out for each of the 80 Tesco Extra & Home Plus Stores (960,000 leaflets) over 5 days.
  • All staff were comprehensively briefed to be 'Tesco Brand Ambassadors'. This ensured a comprehensive knowledge of the Tesco White Goods range, with all staff able to answer FAQs relevant to the sale, and confidently articulate all available offers to any interested parties.
  • Teams were monitored throughout with advanced satellite tracking software.
  • A detailed coverage list was produced, which clearly showed all areas covered and included a street-by-street breakdown.

Results:

  • 960,000 leaflets distributed on schedule across all 80 locations throughout the UK.
  • The client was extremely happy with the performance - and expanded the scope of activity to include hand to hand leafleting teams.
  • Tesco reported “record” sales figures for their Christmas White Goods sales.
