Campaign Brief:
To provide a Footlocker branded competition area for the winner of an experiential / street theatre marketing campaign.
Target Audience:
Shoppers in and around London's Oxford Street and in close proximity to the Footlocker flagship store.
Campaign Description:
Link Communication executed a nationwide campaign across multiple stores promoting a competition to 'improve your home' to win a home entertainment system and sets of stylish trainers. Upon finding our winner we created a high profile prize giving event to show off the competition, and generate press coverage.
The winner arrived at the Oxford Street store to be greeted by :
- Fake paparazzi - snapping away like he was a Hollywood celebrity
- Giant security guards - looking like the US president was about to arrive
- A red carpet - fit for royalty!
The ensuing crowd built up around the store in advance of the winner's arrival. When he came to collect his prize, on lookers tried to be snapped with our winner (thinking he was a major football player, or similar), before we drove him away in a branded Footlocker car.
Results:
- Over 3,000 people entered the competition.
- Footlocker reported a significant uplift of sales on the day of the campaign.
- The campaign generated over £20,000 worth of free press coverage.
