Campaign: The Big Red Bike Ride Promotion

Brief:

  • To generate awareness, drive attendance and encourage participation in The Big Red Bike Ride charity event taking place on July 2010.

High Calibre Promotion Staff

Campaign Description:

  • A team of high-calibre promotion staff visited the London to Brighton Bike Race start line in Kingston upon Thames where they verbally promoted The Big Red Bike Ride and handed out leaflets to participants and spectators.
  • A Clean Graffiti team stencilled The Big Red Bike Ride logo along some of the busiest cycle routes in Central London. The stencil was placed on roads, pavements and cycle paths.
  • A team of high calibre promotion staff covered areas in central, north, south and east London where they placed stickers on saddles of parked bicycles. Cycle racks near stations, higher education centres, museums and shopping areas were targeted.

Branding:

Clean Graffiti

  • The Clean graffiti team began with the targeted locations along the Thames covering the popular cycling spots. Areas covered included Upper Thames Street, Victoria Embankment, Aldwych and St James Park.

Leaflets & Stickers Distribution

  • High number of leaflets was distributed at the London to Brighton Bike Race and 7,700 stickers were placed on bike saddles across London during the campaign.

Results:

  • High number of positive responses received throughout the campaign. Cyclists were happy to accept and retain a leaflet, and they mentioned that they would support all work that British Red Cross does and would definitely enter the race.
  • The client was extremely happy with the result of the campaign because a high numbers of calls and emails received right after the day of event, requesting more information about the upcoming event.
