Client:
So Fragrances

Campaign: Targeted perfume sampling campaign

Brief:

The campaign was aimed to generate awareness and interest in So? Fragrances and support a Teenage Nightclub Event called Club Detention, amongst teenagers aged 12 to 17.

Target Audience:

Young females aged 10-16

Campaign Description:

Link Communication organised the distribution of So? Fragrance samples targeting young girls on high streets within major city centres across the UK. Flyers and fragrance samples were distributed by Link Communication's female promotion teams staff wearing branded clothes, outside busy teenage hang outs in each of city centres. Locations included outside stores such as Miss Selfridges, Top Shop, Mc Donald's, HMV, etc.

The staff were briefed to highlight the teenage 'Club Detention' parties and the ongoing promotion and tie in with Boots Chemists. In addition to this, staff also encouraged recipients to enter the I-pod competition detailed on the print material.

Results:

  • Over 20,000 fragrance samples and leaflets handed out on one day, direct to core demographic of 10-16 year old females.
  • Lots of positive feedback from the recipients who really appreciated the free perfume sample and showed lots of interest when approached.
  • Club Detention parties were very successful and were well attended in each city.
  • The number of competition entries generated from the activity was far higher than client expected.
