Food Sampling & Print Distribution Case Study


Client: Domino’s Pizza

Campaign: Manchester University, Manchester Metropolitan University and Salford University

Brief:

To promote awareness and increase sales for Domino's Pizza through a product sampling and print distribution campaign, targeting students at universities in Manchester.

Campaign Description:

  • Promotion teams were kitted out in Domino's Pizza-branded caps, jackets, and polo shirts, and were positioned around campus areas and in student suburbs with hot pizzas and student-specific print deals.
  • During the day, teams were positioned on busy university campus areas, outside the main entrance to union buildings and lecture theatres, and on busy walkways through campus.
  • Teams distributed vouchers / menus and slices of pizza through student area bars and pubs during busy evenings.

Results:

  • Over 5,000 small pieces of hot pizza and 25,000 student-specific menus were handed out during freshers' week to a very appreciative student audience.
  • The branch manager reported a record-breaking week, followed by the busiest ever month the branches had ever had.
