Shoppers at the newly opened Harvey Nichols Store, Edinburgh

 

Brief:

 

To execute a product-sampling campaign at the Harvey Nichols Edinburgh store launch in order to drive sales and awareness of Cafe-Tasse and the Creme d’Or brand of chocolates.

 

Campaign Description:

 

  • High calibre promotional sampling staff located at Harvey Nichols during the launch event, distributing samples of Cafe-Tasse chocolates and chocolate coated coffee beans to shoppers visiting the newly opened store.
  • The promotions team wore Creme d’Or branded aprons to reinforce the brands name and were in keeping with their luxury ethos.  
  • In conjunction with distributing samples staff verbally promoted the product to recipients as all staff were proficient brand-ambassadors who were fully briefed and confidently able to answer FAQ’s on the specific details of Cafe-Tasse, the quality of manufacturing and other relevant information such as current stockists.

Results:

  • 85% of people offered gratefully accepted samples and at points there were large crowds of people gathered around the display waiting for a free sample.
  • 1,000 samples were distributed over the 3.5 hours.
  • Client was extremely pleased with the huge uplift in sales created by the sampling activity and is planning their next campaign for the coming season.
